Shipping policy

Shipping Policy

Crescent Chapters
(a trading name of Archivistry B.V.)

in force from 30 July 2026

This policy sets out where we ship, what it costs, how long it takes, and what taxes or duties you may have to pay on arrival. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions of Sale; where the two appear to differ, the Terms prevail.

1. How long it takes

1.1 Making and preparing your order

Order type Manufacturing and preparation Hand-over to the carrier
Regular Manufactured, prepared and handed over within 3 to 5 days of your order Within the same 3–5 day period
Priority Guaranteed within 24 hours Normally within the same 24 hours, from the Netherlands

The priority guarantee covers manufacture and hand-over to our shipping partner. It does not extend to the carrier's onward transit time, which is outside our control. Delays can still occur during holiday and peak shipping seasons, and on Dutch public holidays and Sundays, when our shipping partners do not run their regular schedule.

If we fail to manufacture and hand over a priority order within the guaranteed period for reasons within our control, we will refund the priority surcharge on request.

1.2 Transit

Once handed over, transit normally takes 1 to 5 days. This depends heavily on our shipping partner's capacity and on international delays, force majeure and other external factors we do not control.

1.3 Overall estimate

We estimate that delivery is completed within 5 to 8 business days. This is an indication only, not a guaranteed delivery date. The actual time depends strongly on the destination country, any special shipping constraints or difficulties, the international situation at the time, and customs inspections in certain countries. Delays can and do occur.

Whatever the estimate, we will always deliver within 30 days of your order unless a longer period has been expressly agreed with you in advance. If we cannot, you may set a reasonable further period and, if we miss that too, cancel and receive a full refund.

2. Where we ship, and what it costs

2.1 Shipping is charged on top of the product price and is always shown at checkout before you pay.

2.2 Where a rate is published as a range, the exact amount is calculated by our checkout software from the destination country and the composition and weight of your order. The final figure is displayed clearly during checkout, before payment, and is the amount you pay.

We do not ship to destinations outside the countries and territories listed above.

3. Taxes and duties — European Union, Monaco and Northern Ireland

We charge Dutch VAT (currently 21%) on every order delivered within the EU, whatever your country, because we operate below the EU-wide €10,000 threshold for cross-border distance sales and have not registered for the One Stop Shop scheme.

The price you see, plus shipping, is the total amount you pay. No further VAT, customs duty or handling fee arises anywhere within the EU.

Monaco is treated the same way: although not an EU member state, transactions with Monaco are treated under EU VAT rules as transactions with France. Northern Ireland is likewise treated as EU territory for goods under the Windsor Framework.

4. Taxes and duties — United Kingdom

Orders of £135 or less are free of import duty, and you may take it that the applicable UK VAT has been paid. We ensure that VAT is accounted for and paid in accordance with the regulations currently in force in the United Kingdom. The price at checkout is the total; nothing further should be asked of you on delivery.

Our UK VAT registration is currently pending with HM Revenue & Customs. Following HMRC's guidance for the period before a registration number is issued, we invoice the gross amount and UK VAT is not itemised separately on your invoice. We account for and pay it to HMRC retroactively once registration is granted. If you need a VAT invoice, contact us and we will issue one once our number comes through.

Orders above £135 are treated differently by UK rules. Additional taxes, import duties and other charges apply, and are payable by you on entry into the United Kingdom. Our shipping provider handles customs clearance and will notify you of anything that falls due. Neither those charges nor any delay they cause is covered by us — the amounts and the handling of the consignment are set by customs at the port of entry and are entirely outside our control.

5. Taxes and duties — Switzerland, Norway and all other non-EU countries

This section applies to every destination outside the European Union other than the United Kingdom, and in particular to Switzerland and Norway.

5.1 We charge no VAT, customs duty or import tax on these orders. What you pay us covers the goods and the shipping only.

5.2 Please check what is payable in your country before you order. It is entirely the responsibility of the recipient to establish which charges may be incurred at the port of entry and to pay them. We cannot calculate, predict, absorb or refund them.

5.3 Customs handling fees. On top of any tax, a customs handling or clearance fee is charged — either by our shipping provider or under your local regulations — and it is not under our control. This fee can be relatively high regardless of the value of your order. In Switzerland, for example, it typically starts at around CHF 10 and frequently exceeds CHF 15 per parcel. On a small order that can be a substantial proportion of what you paid. Please take it into account before ordering.

5.4 Customs inspections in some countries can add significantly to transit time. This is outside our control and is not covered by the estimates in section 1.

6. Tracking, failed delivery and lost parcels

6.1 You will receive tracking details by email once your order is handed over to the carrier.

6.2 Until the parcel physically reaches you, the risk of loss or damage in transit is ours. If your parcel is lost, stolen or damaged in transit, contact us and we will resend your order or, where that is not possible, refund you in full.

6.3 To allow us to make a claim against the carrier, you must report a missing parcel within 30 days of the latest estimated delivery date. Before reporting, please check the tracking history, any local pickup point named in it, and with the people at your address. Where a parcel is recorded by the carrier as delivered, we may ask you to confirm in writing that you did not receive it before we resend or refund.

6.4 If you instruct the carrier to leave your parcel in a place of your choosing, to deliver it to a different address, or to release it without a signature, the parcel travels at your risk from the moment your instruction is carried out.

6.5 If delivery fails because the address you gave was incorrect or incomplete, or because the parcel was not collected within the carrier's retention period, we may charge you the actual cost of re-dispatch, payable in advance.

6.6 Import charges on orders sent outside the European Union are your responsibility, and we tell you so in our terms and again at checkout. If a parcel is returned to us, abandoned or destroyed because those charges were not paid, or because the parcel was not collected, the loss is not ours to bear and no refund is due. Where the parcel is nevertheless returned to us intact and the item is not personalised, we will refund the price of the goods less the outbound shipping, the return shipping, and any charge levied on us in connection with the return, provided you have not exercised your right of withdrawal — in which case Article 10 applies instead.

6.7 Where a personalised item is returned to us undelivered for a reason within your control, we will hold it for 30 days and contact you about re-dispatch at your cost. If we have not heard from you within that period, we may dispose of the item, and no refund is due.

6.8 Orders containing several items may be delivered in separate parcels at no extra cost to you.
